With creativity and dedication, they’ve transformed our school into a beautiful display of support for breast cancer awareness. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to these efforts, especially for the lovely flowers that helped bring our flower ribbons to life in the school yard. 💐

Last night, our students had the amazing opportunity to attend the 25th Post-Secondary Carousel at the Opelousas Civic Center! They explored college options, learned about career paths, and connected with representatives from various post-secondary institutions.

She highlighted the center's amazing services for women and families, as well as exciting volunteer opportunities for our students at their annual gala, "Be the Spar," on October 26 at Our Savior's Church.

We want to give a huge shoutout to MACA's Secretary, Mrs. Rachel Duplechain, who also serves as our talented door and window artist! She goes above and beyond every season and major event to brighten up our school with her creativity. Thank you, Mrs. Rachel, for making our campus a more lively and beautiful place! She also decorated the beautiful tree!💐
MACA's Renaissance Team and Student Council have been working hard the past few weeks getting our campus ready for "Pink Out Day" as part of OGH Foundation's "Paint the Town Pink." Every MACA student was given the opportunity to create their own ribbon with breast cancer facts, statistics, and reasons why we set aside October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This was a WHOLE school and community effort and our students and their families really pulled through! Thank you to ALL who have given your utmost efforts AND thank you to parents, grandparents, and alumni who donated towards our efforts as well! 💖
What's coming up next?
• This week and next our 7th hour classes are getting creative as they are getting their doors ready for our annual Pink Out Day Door Decorating Contest. Let's see who wins this year's Pizza Party prize awarded by the Renaissance Team! Deadline to complete doors is next Wednesday, October 9th.
• Next Friday is Pink Out Day! Remember to wear PINK and GARDEN themed items for $1 each ($3 max). All proceeds are going to a member of our MACA family currently battling breast cancer!
Our district's 25th Annual Post Secondary Carousel will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Opelousas Civic Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.!
Please register for a barcode before the event at www.StriveFair.com.
During the fair, colleges will scan your barcode to send you more information about their schools. The day after the fair, you will receive a report with information on the colleges with whom you scanned.
